MUES (National Museum Information System) is the one and only nationwide digital transformation initiative integrating standardized data from museums and heritage institutions, streamlining inventory management, conservation and public engagement. Created by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism’s Directorate General of Cultural Assets and Museums, MUES is NOT just a basic data storage system, rather it IS an integrated information platform that supports a sustainable cultural heritage management system, by fostering collaboration among public and private stakeholders and promoting transparency. MUES documents each step and stage of an artifact’s lifecycle – from discovery and conservation to exhibition and public access/engagement. Intellectual property and copyrights of the Project belongs solely to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Directorate General of Cultural Assets and Museums.
